So last week I was invited to review the new Wagamama
at the newly refurbished Highcross
shopping centre in Leicester.
This was my very first visit to Wagamama and now I’m like…”What was I eating before?!”
I was so impressed with the food and the service was really good too (which is what we all want when we eat out right?!) One of the things that I liked the most was that our waitress advised that because all the food was made fresh our meals may come out at slightly different times due to the variations of ingredients and cooking times. I also really liked the seating plan, even though all the tables are shared it still has an intimate feel to it, I think the type of lighting they have also helps.
Now on to the food.
I opted for the Chicken & Prawn Pad – Tai which was gorgeous, but couldn’t finish it because the portions are so big. I also had a side of Ebi Katsu which is prawns in panko breadcrumbs. Served with a chilli and garlic sauce and I think these were definitely my favourite.
Then for desert we had Mini Cakes and Banana Katsu with Salted Caramel ice cream. And let me tell you the Salted Caramel ice cream is hands down the best salted caramel-ness I’ve tried to date.
I can’t recommend enough, I really enjoyed it and I’m now ready for my 3rd visit.
