GIRLY DRESS MEETS GUCCI - ESQUE

When discovering that dress or those shoes (in this case, both) and falling in love, I’ll usually know how and what I’m going to style it with. When I get the outfit idea in my head, then that is it….I’m making it happen.
Now this outfit maybe a little marmite for some…  “What that dress, with those shoes?” but I love clashing pieces together or wearing an outfit that “doesn’t go but goes” (as I like to put it). Here’s a story for you….
When I was a kid I loved Wallis & Gromit and desperately wanted the Sean the Sheep rucksack, which was basically a soft toy turned into a bag. Every Christmas, birthday or treat day I really wanted to ask for the bag but was too scared of everyone at school laughing at me. Then one Christmas I thought “sod it!” and added it to my list. I rocked that bag so hard at school, I don’t think anyone actually cared and I certainly didn’t. That was the day that I no longer gave a shit about what others thought of my style, what was “In Fashion” or cool. I wore what I want however I wanted to wear it. And still to this day, that has never changed.
The moral of this story is basically, wear what the hell you want and love every minute of it.

I love experimenting with my style, one day ill rock trainers & a blazer, the next I’ll go for something the total opposite. Style is supposed to be fun right?! It’s definitely my favourite way to express myself and where I get my confidence from I suppose. I read a quote somewhere once that went something like… “Clothes are the armour we wear to take on the world”. I totally agree with that.

Would love to hear your fashion/style confidence stories. Hope you enjoyed this post.

MY GO TO SUMMER HAIRSTYLES

As we can't always count on the weather at this time of year (although it is currently 30 degrees outside) one of my favourite ways to feel summery is by playing with hairstyles. And the best thing about these looks is that one creates the other.

LOOK 1
STEP 1.
Create a centre parting using a comb ( I tend not to be too bothered about it being perfect as I think it adds to the look) then secure each side with a hairband.

STEP 2.
Plait both sides and secure with a hair band. Then tug at each plaid to mess them up a little.

STEP 3.
Cross over each plait at the nape of your neck and grip in place ensuring you hide the hair bands in the process.

LOOK 2.
STEP 1.
Undo each plait to reveal beautiful wavy hair, I always use the TIGI Bed Head- After Party Smoothing Cream to refresh my hair. I use about 2 pumps and run it through, paying attention to the ends.

STEP 2.
Take a small section from the side and plait securing it with a clear hairband so it blends in with the hair. Again, tug at the plait to mess it up a little.

STEP 3. (Optional)
Attach hair rings to the plait for extra prettiness.

So there you have 2  pretty hairstyles that are perfect for a festival, beach day or to just create something a little summery.

JOINED THE SPECTRUM ''FAN'' CLUB

A few days ago I received a package from the lovely guys over at Spectrum. They had kindly gifted me one of their C01 #NO 1 Fan brushes. I've recently gotten more into my highlighters and was definitely in need of a fan brush.

Not only are the Spectrum Collections easy on the eye, all of the brushes are made from high quality synthetic hair and are super soft. Another thing that makes them even more beautiful is that Spectrum is a vegan, cruelty free brand.

I have been loving my new brush and now have my eye on the sets from Marbleous collection, they are gorgeous!

THE PERSPEX ANKLE BOOTS

Last week the babes over at Garage Shoes sent me a pair of their gorgeous Lacey - Perspex Ankle Boots. I've been loving the clear shoes trend that is everywhere at the moment and I was super excited to style these beauties.
They are soooo comfortable but be warned ladies your feet will sweat and the boots do get a little steamy. But hey ho! What's a little steam when it comes to sexy shoes?!

Here I styled them with a black leather mini skirt(which is about a million years old) and a denim shirt. The choker is out of a pair of shoes and I simply wrap it around a couple of times and let is hang.

Who else is loving the Perspex shoe trend? Hope you guys like this look.
